Mouse bioassay for Fusarium metabolites: rejection or acceptance when dissolved in drinking water.

چکیده
Ten metabolites of Fusarium species (butenolide, diacetoxyscirpenol, equisetin, fusaric acid, gibberellic acid, moniliformin, NRRL 6227 peptide, T-2 toxin, vomitoxin, and zearalenone) were added to the drinking water of mice to determine whether they were consumed or refused. Of the 10, only the trichothecenes--diacetoxyscirpenol, T-2 toxin, and vomitoxin--were refused. Refusal of 2 mg of the trichothecenes per liter was not enhanced by adding 100 mg of zearalenone per liter.

بررسی عملکرد نانوفیلتراسیون در حذف کروم 6 ظرفیتی از آب های حاوی سولفات
Backgrounds and Objectives: Geological situation and/or anthropogenic contamination contain an increased concentration of ions such as hexavalent chromium as well as some other dissolved components such as sulfate in the upper of the establishedMCLs (50µg/L). In this paper, simultaneous removal of Cr (VI) and sulfate from water was investigated using nanofiltration as a promising method for rea...
متن کاملTemporal and spatial variation of hardness and total dissolved solids concentration in drinking water resources of Ilam City using Geographic Information System
Background: In recent times, the decreasing groundwater reserves due to over-consumption of water resources and the unprecedented reduction of precipitation, during the past 1 decades, have resulted in a change in the volume and quality of water with time. The aim of this study was to determine the spatial and temporal variations of hardness and total dissolved solids in drinking water resource...
متن کاملPerformance Evaluation of Point-Of-Use Drinking Water Treatment Units in Removal of Heavy Metals and Dissolved Solids from Drinking Water Supply in Tabriz
Introduction: Application of point-of-use (POU) drinking water treatment units is expanding across the world due to the increased concerns about the adverse health effects of water pollution. The main treatment systems of these devices are mostly activated carbon and nano-filter or reverse osmosis. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of using POU units on phy...
متن کاملElimination of botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT) type B from drinking water by small-scale (personal-use) water purification devices and detection of BoNT in water samples.
Seven small-scale drinking water purification devices were evaluated for their capacity to eliminate botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT) type B from drinking water. Influent water inoculated with toxic Clostridium botulinum cultures and effluent purified water samples were tested for the presence of BoNT by using a standard mouse bioassay and two commercial rapid enzyme immunoassays (EIAs). The water p...
متن کاملCo-Occurrence of Microcystins and Taste-and-Odor Compounds in Drinking Water Source and Their Removal in a Full-Scale Drinking Water Treatment Plant
The co-occurrence of cyanotoxins and taste-and-odor compounds are a growing concern for drinking water treatment plants (DWTPs) suffering cyanobacteria in water resources. The dissolved and cell-bound forms of three microcystin (MC) congeners (MC-LR, MC-RR and MC-YR) and four taste-and-odor compounds (geosmin, 2-methyl isoborneol, β-cyclocitral and β-ionone) were investigated monthly from Augus...
